Dr. Ilia Neophytou commenced her medical education at the Medical School of Thessaly in 2009, following the successful completion of Pancyprian examinations. She earned her medical degree from the Medical School of Thessaly, Greece, laying the groundwork for her medical career.

Driven by a commitment to excellence and a focus on specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Medicine, Dr. Neophytou pursued advanced training opportunities in Germany, seeking out specialized centres of excellence in her field.

Her journey began at Bethesda Hospital in Duisburg, Germany, affiliated with the University Hospital Düsseldorf and recognized as a certified centre for diabetes and endocrinology. Over three years, she rotated through departments including pneumology, gastroenterology, oncology, intensive care, and the emergency room, which constituted essential training for internal medicine. This was followed by nearly three years dedicated to the endocrinological-diabetological department.

Dr. Neophytou furthered her specialization at the prestigious Endocrinology Medical Center "Endokrinologikum" in Ulm, Germany, a specialized certified centre for diabetes and endocrine disorders, where she immersed herself to diverse cases and engaged in comprehensive patient care scenarios.

In March 2023, after successful examinations, Dr. Neophytou obtained a specialization in "Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetology" from the Medical Association of Stuttgart, Germany. She continued her professional journey as a consultant Endocrinologist and diabetologist at the medical centre in Ulm (Endokrinologikum) until relocating to Cyprus.
Committed to maintaining her expertise, Dr. Neophytou regularly attends European and international seminars, ensuring her knowledge remains comprehensive, scientifically documented, and up-to-date in the dynamic fields of endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. Her certifications include proficiency in performing thyroid, parathyroid, and soft tissue neck ultrasound examinations, utilizing advanced techniques such as quantitative Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) of Thyroid Nodules.

While working at both Bethesda Hospital and Endokrinologikum, Dr. Neophytou actively engaged with interdisciplinary teams, consisting of specialists from various fields, including gynaecologists, oncologists, surgeons, nuclear medicine physicians, and others. This interdisciplinary setting involved participating in decisions regarding further procedures, diagnosis, and therapies best suited for the patient, always following up-to-date guidelines. Through this dynamic interaction, she gained expertise in managing a wide array of endocrine conditions.

Returning to Cyprus in January 2023, Dr. Neophytou brings with her a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to excellence in endocrinology, internal medicine, and diabetology.
